The tangerine trees flower in early spring and the fruits are harvested in autumn. The tangerines are picked, gathered and transported to the factory.

On arrival at the factory the mandarins are peeled. In order to do this mechanically the mandarins are treated with a lot of water and heat in a rotating drum. After peeling the white membrane is also removed. Then the parts are separated and canned. This is done on light syrup or water. Stolp imports the best quality mandarins, so called ‘Fancy’ mandarins. Only 3 to 5% of the parts in a can may be broken.
